SYC Warriors Announce Try-Out Dates

SYC Warrior Travel Softball Organization have announced their try-out dates for the 2017-2018 Travel Ball season.

The SYC Warriors will field 3 teams for the 2017-2018 travel season, a 18U B team, a 16U B team, and a 14u B team. Depending on the talent of the teams, the teams could move up to class A.

Try-Out Information

The SYC Warriors will hold try-outs for all teams at the Susquehannock High School Varsity softball field (3280 Fissels Church Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327) on the following dates:

August 6, 2017 and August 13, 2017

14u from 9:00 am - 11:00 am

16u from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

18u from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We ask that all players arrive a little early for their respective try-out time to register and warm up.

18U Team information

The 18U team will be made up of players with birth dates after December 31, 1999.

The 18U team expects to compete in 2 fall tournaments, 5-6 summer tournaments which could include showcases, and 1 World Series/National tournament. The 18U team expects to hold practices once a week during the fall season and winter season, and twice a week during the summer season. The team will take a break from practicing for the holidays and for school ball season.

Coaches for the 18U team are all professional (they are not parents of any players on the team). They are:

Head Coach: Ed Chandler (Susquehannock JV coach)

Assistant Coach: Tim Blauser (coaches within Dover Organization)

Assistant Coach: Marty Joines (Kennard-Dale assistant Varsity coach)

Assistant Coach: Rachael Potts (former college player)

16U Team Information

The 16U team will be made up of players with birth dates after December 31, 2001.

The 16U team expects to compete in 2 fall tournaments, 2 spring tournaments, 4 summer tournaments, and 1 World Series/National tournament. The 16U team expects to hold practices once a week during the fall, winter, and spring season, and twice during the summer season.

Coaches for the 16U team are:

Head Coach: Mike Staub (professional - no daughter on the team)

14U Team Information

The 14U team will be made up of players with birth dates after December 31, 2003. This team will be made up of mostly players who are in middle school. There are exceptions to school years for this team, which will be discussed with the player and guardian after try-outs are complete.

The 14U team expects to compete in 2 fall tournaments, 2 spring tournaments, 4 summer tournaments, and 1 World Series/National tournament. The 14U team expects to hold practices once a week during the fall, winter, and spring season, and twice during the summer season.
